Our client is currently seeking a FABRICATION DIRECTOR to lead their Warehouse Operations, Production Team, and Field Operations teams. The ideal candidate will have an impressive background in live events, theatre, or permanent installations/attractions and the leadership skills provide direction to our client's team of draftsman, engineers, and project mangers. Additionally, oversight of the Fabrication Department will include crew supervision, inventory control, and managing departmental and project budgets. Relocation assistance is available.

Product order management
Direct and engage in supplier/vendor pricing and minimum quality standards and negotiations from chosen suppliers
After sales service efforts to include product delivery schedules
Oversee preparation reports as required
Remain current on market trends with competitors, suppliers
Maintain procurement pipelines with alternative vendors to ensure corporate standards are maintained
Contribute to the daily, weekly, monthly and annual planning process
Maintain good companywide working relationships
Oversight and general management of the Fabrication Department
Creating and ensuring safety operations compliance
Coordinate asset management and maintenance
Facilitate and coordinate communications with other departments, such as Executive Leadership, Sales, and Project Management, CNC, Carpentry, Welding and Paint.
Working with team members to develop engineering solutions
Collaborating with the company's graphics, production, design, and integration departments
Helping to create and communicate clear, accurate information to the craftsmen on the floor
Plan and implement a fabrication plans for multiple projects simultaneously
Conducting site visits and on-site work as necessary
Improve internal production processes in response to client feedback
Requirements:
Proficiency with both 3D and 2D drafting programs of various types (including SketchUp, AutoCAD, VectorWorks and Illustrator)
Proficiency with Mac computers and operating systems
Practical working knowledge and experience with a wide range of materials including wood, acrylic, aluminum, steel, composites and laminates
Experience leading a large team and coordinating workflow
Exhibit, live performance and/or broadcast scenic environment design and fabrication techniques
Ability to manage autonomously under minimum direction
Maintaining an even temper under tight turnaround times and stressful conditions
Excellent Communication Skills
Writing reports and business correspondence,
Applying concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Solving practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations
Word processing, Spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail, Order processing, Database software
Valid Driver's license
Traveling as needed for project execution
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
